Hi guys,

I've been thinking of getting a VZ, however I have no interest in getting another 7.62x39 rifle... Already have a nice SKS! I've read there were issues with a certain batch of VZs in .223, does anyone know if these problems have been resolved?

I would be getting the 11.5" restricted version, I live in the city and only shoot at a range so the NR has no appeal to me. I already have an AR and a bunch of mags, would like to use the ar15 mag adapter if I got one, anyone currently running this setup? Is it reliable?

Thanks!

Apparently you need to run a brake in order to get the restricted versions to cycle properly. Seems pretty logical to me. Biggest problem now seems to be over gassing.

I've got a 5.56x45mm CSA Vz.58 with the 11.75" barrel from 2012 with a couple thousand rounds through it and I still don't have any of the issues that people were having.

I've got a 7.5" .223 VZ and it fails to eject 1-2 rounds out of each mag. I'm sending it back for warranty work and then I'm hoping the issues will be resolved.

My vz58 non-res in 7.62x39 is flawless after a few thousand rounds down the pipe.
