VZ-58 7.62x39mm Barnaul Ammunition

Yes it works and is non corrosive. However.....corrosive commie bloc ammo also works and is typically much cheaper. Your cleaning routines may vary but it will still go "pew".

I would say the barnaul ammo are the best option for the vz58. Out of 1000's bullet i never had a fail and they are pretty accurate. Fires pretty dirty compared to a clean powder like s&b . This is a list of ammo i shot with a vz
1- barnaul (best)
2- norinco (not the best but great if you plan to quick fire alot of ammo) they are cheap and on sale now on firearmoutlet 7.95$ / 20
3- sellier & bellot $$ (wont work for me, premium brass cased ammo but vz is striking too hard and Pop primer sometimes. This ammo shots pretty clean)

Would like to have your own opinion on ammo for the vz guys

That's what I've used so far with mine; haven't tried anything else yet. I am curious about how surplus corrosive will work, though I often don't have time to clean right after range trips so I'm hesitant to go that way.
It's reasonably priced, and so far reliable and accurate. But as the posters above state, it's pretty dirty.
