Is it ok to shoot a VZ-58 if I have field stripped it and cleaned as much of the Cosmo out of it as I could see? Or do I really need to go through the "cooking" process to get it out of all the nooks and crannies?

Thanks for any insight!

Cheers!

you are good to go as far as I am concerned. providing it is not in the gas system, action or barrel (ESPECIALLY!!) I can't see why there would be any issues. Of course, there may be others from another school of that on that one.

I cleaned out the barrel, gas system and action. The only places I couldn;t get to were under the trigger group.

I'd give the bolt and other misc internals a spray with brake cleaner or something like that also, then give it a quick wipe down. Otherwise, you should be fine. I didn't do much else when I got mine.

i took everything except the trigger group apart including the bolt sprayed it down with brake parts cleaner (NOT the stocks through)

i just wiped them down with a cloth any solvent could pull the colour out of the plastic a bit and dull the finnish...as me how i know this....

You know, I have to admit. I like the smell of cosmo.

Mabye so much of it has soaked into me that I may be nuts, but I still like it! :)
