vz.58 Co-witness Red Dot Sight Query

Hey Guys,

Am fully aware there is an entire sticky dedicated to this however I want to cut straight to the chase and some of the info on the sticky is dated.
I've just got a vz.58 which I love and want to add a red dot to the forend/upper, not interested in any of the POSP style action/side mounting options, want something forward mounted with long eye relief to keep it as quick & pointable as possible.
Is the NEA upper the best option?? Any advice on red dot optics?? I would like to be able to co-witness the iron sights if possible.

Exactly^ Buy the NEA upper guard. It is low enough to almost 2/3 cowitness with the sights. The TRS25 is reasonably priced too. (This is what I did.)

Both show in stock and SFRC is excellent to deal with. Don't waste your time looking elsewhere.

Its prob the best upper out and it stays put.

I'll give a range report this weekend. I'm gonna blast that thing silly, and I'll let you know if it keeps zero. I'll shoot some, then remove and replace it and shoot some more. We'll see how it performs. Here's a picture of it mounted. The color really is black, it just doesn't look that way in the picture.
