Here's a photo of our rifle:

I like the stock, but I'd like it more if it would also fold. Is there available on the market a metal insert that would install somewhere near or on the receiver that would allow the present stock to fold, say like the Galil does?

Stormwerkz has adapters that can be combined to give you a folder M4 stock.

Fab does have one, it's like $325+ for the hinge/tube/stock if you get the metal joint, and around $100 less if you get polymer. I think stormwerkz sells an adapter too.

Thanks! That looks like exactly what I want, so I've contacted StormWerkz to find out exactly which of those parts our particular stock-setup needs. (Looks like this is going to be far less expensive way to go than a Galil stock.)

StormWekz tells me that I need three parts totalling $140 to have the present stock fold. Seems rather steep to me, but these are all metal parts that at least look pretty rugged. I'd be very interested to read anyone else's experience with these parts.

In case anyone else is interested in doing the same, here's the parts list:

Stock Folding Mechanism --Item # SFM-UNI-01 -- $55.00

Universal Carbine Adapter (SA-UCA-01) -- $35.00

Vz-58 Stock Adapter, Multi Point (SA-VZ58-03) or (SA-VZ-58-04), depeding on desired final stock angle --$50.00

I'm also communicating with FAB about an adapter. I'll post after I hear from them.

Anyone tried this option and, if so, what do you think of it?

A few weeks ago I ordered the Opsgear folding-stock adapter whose link I mentioned in my last post. Finally, it arrived today (along with a very nice butt pad). Included was an extra castle nut.

Installation was bone simple and here's the result:

So far I'm very pleased with the adapter. I won't be operating the mechanism that often -- only to allow the rifle to fit onto a single shelf of a business safe and not take up too much room.

BTW, both of the above plus shipping came to a grand total of around $32 -- an amount of money that I can easily live without.
