Hey guys I have a pretty specific question for anyone familiar with the nea rail that covers the piston. My cross pin seems to walk out on me after a few rounds down range and I noticed there is a threaded hole that can be used to put a set screw of some kind down it in order to retain the pin. Does anyone know what size set screw I need for this? Thanks.

There should be a set screw,tiny spring and a really small ball bearing on top of that,which works as your detent keeping the pin from falling out. Sorry I don't know what size the set screw is, but you'll need the spring and ball bearing too. It should have come with those parts.
You should be able to find parts to make it work,you can find tiny set screws at places like acklands and they might have the tiny ball bearings there too, and you'll need to find a real small spring,that will be the tricky one,to lift the ball into the detent grooves on the pin so it won't fall out. You have to experiment with the tension you put on the spring by tightening or loosening the screw and/or shortening the spring.
Did you grab your NEA rail from SFRC? The picture on their website looks like there is no set screw. Weird.

The set screw is from underneath on the other side so that when the pin is in the closed position it fits into a groove on the pin to lock it on,not the screw itself but the screw pushing on the tiny spring that pushes on the ball bearing so it goes into the grooves on the pin. There's a groove on the end of the pin to so when you pull it out to take the cover off,the pin doesn't fall out but stays in the handguard. Yeah I got it from SFRC.
I lost my screw,spring ans bearing,emailed NEA and the sent me several as repoacements.
Just a tip,a little JB weld on top of that spring,and I really mean a little,and lay the ball bearing on it keeps it from all flying apart when your removing it.
