Just wondering if we can get these in Canada, CZ USA is importing them into the US. These are newly milled semi auto recievers and not modified originals.

VZ 58 Tactical Sporter, and VZ 58 Military Sporter

The Czech SA Vz. 58 service rifle is now available from CZ-USA in 2 semi-automatic only versions, the VZ 58 Tactical Sporter, and the VZ 58 Military Sporter.

The Sa vz. 58 was developed by Ing. Jiri Cermak in 1956 and 1957, adopted by the Czechoslovakian army in 1958. and was produced by Ceska Zbrojovka in Uhersky Brod, Czechoslovakia until 1983. Approximately one million Sa vz. 58 rifles were produced during it's 20 year production run. As of 2007, it is still the standard issue service rifle in both the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

The new Tactical and Military Sporter models are manufactured by combining original Sa vz. 58 components with a new semi-auto only milled receiver, a new trigger mechanism and new fire control parts.

I like mine just fine and from the looks of that little pic you can't use stripper clips with this new receiver.

MATT P the stripper clips dont go in the reciever, they go in the bolt carrier :D

+1 ... why?

+2 why get it when we can get the original?

Ok that equals 3, math class is over lads :D:D:D

It would be nice to have an option of building a vz58, we see guys in the U.S. building AKs etc,. something we can never do here

Why the hell not build something non-restricted? and something we have a crap load of parts for.

If someone can afford it why be against it.

We have some non restricted already, the CZ-858 and the VZ-58L.

I'm not against building a VZ, I'm just trying to see the practical aspect of it and
so far I don't see any :)

Down here the new receiver is a nice option for making your own. $399 retail for the receiver and about $50 for a parts kit with 4 30round mags. The kits I have don't show any wear. You guys are lucky to have complete rifles available so cheap !

LOL yeah I can see it now. It was late when I posted and I didn't even notice that it was a bare receiver sans bolt carrier. The pic of the receiver was small and I thought it had some weird new bolt carrier already installed. That's why I said I thought the receiver looked weird :D Anyways yeah powers of observation go down as fatigue and lack of sleep set in.
