My vz 7.62 has had a sticking gas piston the last couple times I disassembled it, it seems that the piston may have been lifting slightly during operation and galling the top of the gas block causing it to stick. I'm just curious if this is going to be ok I noticed it after I installed a Bc tactical quad rail but that could be unrelated. Any opinions or experience out there ??

There is not much to take a pic of little brush with emery cloth will fix the lip inside the opening to the gas block and make it slide smoothly. I usually disassemble after about 20-30 rounds lately just to check things I have been checking my zero with the quad rail and my trijicon reflex and on the upside the bc tactical rail holds a very good zero after I disassemble and put it back. Hmmm now that I look closer I think it is the quad rail, the factory hand guard has a guide for the gas piston maybe the quad rail is not working so good.

After a little investigation I took an upper hand guard from a .223 that I haven't fired yet and compared, the piston guide on the bc tactical is about a millimetre up from where it should be. I'm thinking that it will break in because I can't imagine the tolerances in these guns being that strict. Otherwise the rifle functions flawlessly with no signs of abnormal wear it is stamped 13 and has 300-400 rounds through it. I will keep you posted.

Lots of issues with these guns as of late

i know that the .223 had issues with certain years i know this because i owned one and the same issue was repeating its self thru others rifles, mine was dealt with really well once CSA got involved and NS was told P off, the issues with the 7.62x39 seem to be on par with just about any other large firearms manufacturer including CZ 858's......just saying i see no more issues with CSA compared to every one else, i chose a 5 year warranty over "tough luck it surplus" and i have had my defective rifle replaced and than some

My .223 is stamped 12, once I get this 7.62 where I want it I will start testing the .223 Ill let you know how that goes. I hope it's good :)

So I took a Dremel to the opening of the gas chamber on the 7.62 and made a very conservative ramp for the piston. I put 60 rounds through and no problems everything looked good on a very thorough disassembly and cleaning, the piston action was smooth again :).
I also tested my 5.56, 40 rounds with no problems and it also looked good on disassembly.
