I am wondering if anyone has removed the vz 58 side rail:

I tried with an allen key, but the thing was just bending and the screws wouldnt budge

I then tried to put a soldering iron to the screws but the heat did not transfer at all.

How are these installed? red or blue loc tite?

Any other ideas beside a torch? I dont want to wreck the paint/bluing by applying a propane flame.

Any other suggestions or anyone else have any luck with removal?

hmmm well that would not be ideal, I want to mount it on another pre drilled VZ. That one has the holes plugged by filler screws and they were no problem to remove.

I want to swap the filler screws to this receiver once I remove the rail.

It didnt do any damage to it, just destroyed the screw that was it. Alittle paint was scraped off but no damage to anything

I think I will insert the Allen key and get it red hot with a torch to transfer the heat better, then use a 2nd Allen key to try to turn it.

Hope it works

well the allen key method did not work, it was red hot and barely any heat got transferred to the screw. I am thinking it is not made of steel

Generally heating the female side of the fastener (in this case the receiver) is most effective. Some heat transfer might help to loosen loktite, but that's about it. Since I wouldn't want to heat the receiver either, I would seriously try the impact driver technique.
