VZ 58 Sporter Bottom Handguard Pin

I'm trying to install Fab Defense upper and lower handguards on my new VZ 58. However, the pin holding the lower guard on is capped with rivets on both ends. This is the 7.62 * 39 version with black plastic factory handguards, not the wooden hardware version.

I thought maybe I could knock it through with moderate force but no luck.

Before I start full-force whacking the jumpins out of this thing at the risk of damaging it, has anyone run into this problem before? Will sheer force with a hammer and punch do the trick or am I missing something?

I did a forum search but couldn't find another thread on this.

Drill it out and buy a new roll pin at hardware store. I have a whole bunch of extra roll pin for my cz858 since the factory one came loose.

Roll pin size you need is 5/32" and I bought longer ones then just cut them down to size (buy at least 1-1/2")

Note- I own a cz858, I'm assuming the pin for your vz58 is the same diameter
