VZ-58 versus CZ-858

VZ= range baby CZ = I can take camping! Who CARES ABOUT THE 4.5 INCH EXTRA LENGTH

What if it is marked with CZ 858? Does that mean it is not made in the same factory or how does that work?

Lastly - chrome vs non-chrome?

CZH2003 is made by CZ Hermex (CZH)
CZ-858 is made by Czeska Zbrojovka (CZ)

Same design, different manufacturers. Kind of how you can buy an AR-15 from Armalite, Stag, Bushmaster, Remington, Dlask, etc.

Chrome vs non-chrome. Clean your gun at the end of every day you shoot it and this will never be an issue.

858

The 858 is more accurate than the chrome bore 58's but wear out faster if you shoot them hot.I consistently put 3rds. into 1/2 " and 5rds. into 1 " at a hundred with an 858. The non chrome bores are tighter.

Oh snaps! Nice group!
Mind if I ask what setup you're using to achieve it?

Bald eagle bubble rest, 4 power leopold scout , wolf target and norinco non corrosive , greased trigger sear , new infratek forend with an added bubble level, 43 years shooting experience.

I've got a 58L (non-restricted, chrome lined barrel) and an 858 (non-restricted, no chrome) and really don't notice much difference between the two... aside from the fact that the barrel on the 58L is actually a bit LONGER then even the 858!!

how much longer.... and what one would your recommend me buy lol? should i wait for a possible shipment from marstar(58L) or just go for the 858.... non chrome just means more scrubbing and cleaning so i guess it not tht bad?

honestly, they're both good. The only thing I really like about the 58L is that if I'm out somewhere, where it's not convenient to clean it for a few days after I've shot it, I'm less concerned, as it has the chrome barrel. If you're cleaning them relatively soon after each range trip... then it doesn't matter.

The 58L is maybe a quarter-inch, or half-inch longer - haven't actually measured it

MARSTAR imported the Vz-58 semi which is restricted, yes the receivers are marked 2003 sport.
We imported the longer barreled Vz-58l which is none restricted, we used chrome lined barrels....
Other firs imported the Vz 858 familiy of guns, the restricted had the chrome bore, the non-restricted did not.
Happy shooting
John
