vz. 58 vs. CZ 858?

The Vz 58/ SA Vz 58 is the select fire service rifle. In its original form or as a C/A it is a prohibited weapon in Canada.

The restricted rifle from Marstar is the CZH 2003 Sport, sold by CZ Hermex. They call it the Vz 58S to hype it up a little.

Calling the CZH 2003 Sport a "Vz 58" has lead to the present round of "FRT Frenzy" about it being a prohib.

The CZH 2003 Sport has a specific FRT# which refers only to that particular rifle as does the actual Vz 58.

It is restricted due to it's sub 18.5 inch barrel

The CZ 858 Tactical -2 and CZ 858 Tactical - 4V are newly manufactured products of Česká zbrojovka a.s., Uherský Brod. Each has a specific FRT #. The - 2 is non restricted and the -4 is restricted due to a sub 18.5 inch barrel

thats not quite correct . the cz858 non-rest is not chrome and the cz858 restricted is chrome.

hmm i'll post a picture its not the best i have but i will dig up some other ones

My CZ858-2 Tactical is definitely not chrome lined...just my 2 cents...

Agreed. You have to clean it after you use ammo that is primed with salt primers, or the barrel will rust. I know that from experience. (fortunately for me, I caught the rust early, and I had only fired five rounds of Czech surplus through it, and I had forgot to clean it.)
