The cz is easier to load with 5 round magazines for multiple shots: you can charge multiple magazines with stripper clips prior to shooting, and the rifle offers better upgrades for a better handling rifle.
Thanks for the replies guys, took the SKS out today and I'm still not sure. If you could have 10 rounds in the VZ-58, it would be a no brainer. I just think that the 30 round mags cut off at 5 are crappy, I like the way they look but hate our stupid magazine laws. I do like the M-4 stock and weight of the VZ-58 (I shouldered one at a local shop). Just not sure if I want to fork out 5x the cost of my SKS for a gun that is similar in function. My SKS is decently accurate and a laminate Izzy with chrome bore, so I will keep it no matter what. Perhaps I have some more thinking to do.
