VZ-58 Wood Furn

In your bright world, what is the price this set is normally selling for?

I thought this site serves people to exchange their experience and get some good advises. One dude here has provided his fond memories where those kits were kicking around for cheap and dollar was on the par. No longer the case - was my point based on my own recent experience.

If you are selling such kit for better price or have some plausible source of it - please let us all know. Until then let me increment the counter of useless posts by 1.

The point really isn't "what they're selling for" as the simple truth is, you're right, on the EE they aren't coming up often at all.

The point was that you made it sound like the world would end if he decided to go anywhere else and buy it.

The truth is, I have no doubt if you spent a little time on ebay or on American forums, you could very easily find the parts you wanted at a reasonable price. Yes you'd have to ship them in, but no they won't get held up at the border because they're related to guns, and no they won't charge you a huge duty/tax when you bring them in. FAR more often than not, I never get charged duty or taxes on anything that's valued at less than a couple hundred dollars. In fact, when I use USPS, I dont' think I've been charged duty more than once on any item worth less than about 3-400 dollars.

So my point wasn't that you can go down to wholesale sports and buy the same thing you're selling for half the price. The point was that the world will not fall apart if the OP goes on ebay or a US forum and finds the parts he wants, and he'll be able to find them at a decent price if he's willing to put in some leg work to find them.

You're selling your stuff, you have every right to ask whatever price you want. That's fine. But please don't try to use fear of duty or delays or not being able to find it anywhere as a justification for a super high price. Just say it how it is: "My stuff is priced really high because it's available, in Canada, and is uncommon here. If you are willing to spend the money to get something quickly and easily without looking around, I'm your guy". That's the honest truth - if someone wants to save the effort of searching, then I'm sure they might be willing to buy it from you.

I bought a bunch of sets (for my Mossberg 500/590 and VZ58) and found the woodworking a good learning experience, plus very relaxing, wanted to keep the best set (which I ended up selling). Not worth the trouble of reselling or time spent and such, just did it because I liked it. Just should have kept the IWD Walnut set as it was impeccable. Going to keep my FSN with it's current wood as in the end, if you shoot your rifle (like I do), the wood will get f@cked up anyway. Also should have kept the beat up wood, as it fit perfectly and it would be a set that you wouldn't care if you f@cked it up. Oh well, not going to mess with it now unless I buy another CZ/VZ - been there, done that.

Agree, IWD is the best. I don't mind high price and lots of time to be spent on finishing. I do it for my own anyways.

Although, this info does not help OP. It was clearly stated that he wants something ready to go, and IWD is not an option. I belive he might already have bought used and well worn surplus wood from ee (at least I have seen it sold at the time of this thread runnung). Only 3 pieces of woid, No UHG, which is actually the most wanted bit. Not sure if it would be possible to match the finish even if having luck getting that part separately.

And holy smokes dude...

I didn't realize you were asking over 400 dollars for what you are selling

That's beyond insane... worse than the guys trying to get 1500 or more out of their CZ858 when they became NR again...

Good luck, you'll need it :)

I did all that work which you are calling for, and still paid too much. Now, selling for what I spend, not even adding up the hand work to bring it to its current condition. This is not something of a profit. Although, bought second set for a bit better price here on ee, but not a door crasher either. No cheap deals around - is my point. I did not try to scare anyboby of that fact, just was saying what I observe. As usual, if you clearly see any deals around - tell us. And in the meantime, I have got buyer and it is pending for funds right now. Time to stop bbq'ing me and move onto buyer. I'm cooked.

CBSA issue has happened to me. Stuck for 5 weeks, because there were some metal hardware along with wood. It looked to them as AK kit and they suspected metal parts are specifically for full auto. So they were investigating, probably just to make up a work case to spend time on. If it never happens at your back yard, it does not mean it never happens behind the fence. But thanks for sharing your smooth experience.

Surplus wood is still available and not that hard to find. I have several sources that can get me wood at alot less then what you are selling it for.
I don't want/use the surplus wood as I like to clone and toy around with almost every single firearm I own.

That's interesting. Ideally, I'm looking for blond beech unissued with bayo and all colors matched, hardware included. Just like I sold, but lighter color. So worst case I can add few more layers of shellac (or whatever was on it) without fully stripping. May you please check your sources? I guess other folks on this thread would be also curious. BTW, I had a few people contacting me and asking for the same kit with lighter color. Seems like price was not an issue for them, but availability. You can PM me, or may I? Or you may share your knowledge right there. Please.

That's my point exactly.

Why sell them to someone else who will in turn try to make double then what it was bought for.

Ill see if I can do them for 250$ with all hardware

I'll see what I can dig up and if I can I'll flog the EE with them

Oh, seems like you start smelling a profit. But keep your promise - it must be cheaper then I sold, other conditions being equal. No unmatched or beaten up wood, please. I would be interested to buy, if color is what I'm looking for. Good luck with this new venture. No, I'm serious. You?

Hahahaha dude I guess you haven't seen my numerous postings over the past 6+ years of all my vz addiction.

No worries tho cuz I know exactly who to talk to and not being shafted off buying from ebay

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong but I have probably had over 40 vz rifles in my life time and have bought, sold and tried everything thay has to do with the vz rifle.
Anyone else think a higher # then 40??

Wow, 40? I wonder how every next rifle was so much different then all previous? Production year?

Just kidding, just kidding. It's Friday night and I'm almost out of office. Have a great and long weekend.

The only thing that's a joke is the price of your wood sets (as per previous posts) or ones that can't handle the use of 7.62x39 and cost almost as much as your surplus ones ;-)

Plus I want to use those pics for my signature!!!!
That's too awesome

:-( I have no friends or life

Chirp Chirp Chirp.... you wouldn't have those 3d sets if you didn't copy my design specs. I don't hear any of my other customers complaining. They are quite satisfied about both cost and quality. BTW I have been invited to the CSA factory in Jablunka, Czech Republic in December to meet with some people there. I will be sure to post some pics of me blasting off some full auto for you to drool over. Where is your invite??? Oh yeah ...you don't have one! LMAO
