I read in one of the discussion forums on this web-site, there's a version of CZ-858 in Non-Restricted configuration that comes with a Chrome-Lined 20" barrel (like the short barreled Restricted), designated as VZ-58L. Could anybody out there tell where to get one of these rifles.

Marstar brought in a smallish batch awhile back.

Those are the only ones that came into Canada. You will need to looked for a used example on the EE.

Yes, there was a number of CZH-2003 sport rifles with non-restricted length barrels imported by Marstar.

First things first. They are not CZ-858s. They are made by a different manufacturer; Hermex. They are very similar but the receivers have been de-auto'd in different ways in addition to the chromed barrels.

Secondly, There was only one batch brought in AFAIK, Marstar ran into classification problems and is no longer importing these rifles. They are quite rare. Although they appear on the EE from time to time.

Third and finally, if you want a VZ-58 variant, I suggest giving up on the chrome lined barrel and get a CZ 858-2. The chrome lining is little more than marketing hype when full-auto is not allowed. If you're really concerned Rauch tactical is going to be offering a special gun & bore coating that is supposedly far superior to chrome and the price seems pretty reasonable.

Thanks Exoce, I had the same opinion regarding chrome-lined barrels especially if you clean it thoroughly after firing corrosive ammo.
I am going to order CZ858-2 soon, good suggestion to get it chromed afterwards.

I think the non res is the CZH-2003L and the res is CZH-2003S. I have both but I haven't fired one of the 858's so I can't really say but about differences. I know they are very similar besides the chrome line barrels.
