vz-58s/858 how many rounds have you guys gone through so far?

Looking to see how many rounds you've gone through if you own this rifle.

Have any of you exeeded a case (the 200$ guy with 1120 rounds) or done several cases of ammo yet?

Just want to get an idea of how often you guys use your rifle, and what kind of beating its gone through.

Post any issues you've had, if any as well.

My 1st 858 did about 500 rounds over 6 months....and then 1200 rounds in two days at a tactical response rifle course.....a couple gremlin misfires....sold it and it was good as new......just clean the bore well....(non-chrome lined)....GREAT rifles....
 
Around 18 months for me. Zero rounds.

Can't get away from work long enought to get the the range...and I can bring myself to crack open that vintage case of 7.62 that's older than I am :)
 
I've had mine for just over 2 months and I just finished off the first case on Saturday. I haven't had any problems so far.

Now that I've gotten my rocks off with this baby I suspect that the second case will last much longer.
 
Appreciate the responses, was hoping that someone here had gone through a few cases and had reported no issues.

I'm going to break down and buy one of these, with the ammo half of the price as .223 I can't resist. Stripper clips make loading much quicker than my AR for the magazines, and the price of the gun itself is too hard to overlook. I'm looking at shooting time here in the long run, and the .58 will be shot much more due to price than my AR..

I am on my second case and I went through about 400 rounds waiting for my cases. I can safely say I have 2000 rounds through mine with only about 10 FTE
but mostly during the scope mount trials and I blame it on that as I was still working out the clearance details at that point.
 
A crate in under 2 months? Sheesh, Wouldn't a pure laser beam of hate from your eyes have melted the rivet out of that mag by now?

I love shooting my CZ-858, still can't help but to shake my head every time I hit that fifth round and have to reload the mag. I guess us Kanuckistanians have more practise at changing mags than anyone else in the World...
 
I've done over a case in my VZ-58. No malfunctions aside from the very odd FTF (ammo).

A buddy did almost a full case in one shoot with his brand new CZ-858.

I got to the range before him and when I saw him pull out an unopened case I was like WTF??? :runaway:

He brought 3 non-PAL friends and they took turns shooting while the others reloaded mags. It got hot, but no hickups.

Bout 5 cases so far - all is well cause I let the barrel cool ,but one of our range mates has almost double that and he shoots hot - no probs so far
 
I've had mine for about a year now and I've gone through about 1000 rds. Just bought another crate to supply me for this year's service rifle season. So far I haven't had a single FTE or FTF and no incidence of the gremlin... Yet.

Probably true. A trick I picked up from service rifle matches is to change mags after the 4th round. Saves the trouble of having to drop the bolt every time.
