Q: Considering this monster thread, what do you think of the VZ-58 type rifle?

Yep. I was in P&D again today and they're definitely the non-restricted 858's. There's one on the rack at the handgun counter. Forgot to ask what the price was. Don't see them up on the Rifle web page yet - probably won't be added until next Tuesday. If there are any left by then.

My solution was to double nut the locking screw (one as a jamb nut) and blue locktite to keep the same pressure constant , just tight enough to lock in , then I knew how to aim according to how hot the barrel was.
When cold I shoot 1/4 inch at a hundred with wolf hollow point target.
But I use a scout mount. Steel on steel . If you mount on the handguard the difference will be greater.

Another 500 rds -
Since this mod - p o i now does NOT drift with heat - but the group size is larger - I ended up with 50 rounds into two and a quarter inches at a hundred - same p o i , consecutive bench rest shots - it was a HOT barrel at the end of the string --:D:D:D

I'll take it.
 
I often see people forgetting the purpose of VZs, Glocks, Sigs, M&Ps...They're meant for hard usage, mud, rocks, hot days, and putting lead into bad people. I see fashion in function and that's one pretty piece.

As a side note, how's the Scout Mount? I hear they have an integral rear iron sight..Do they?

By The Way

Its a very good idea to sight in with the built in sight first before mounting the optic - the optic is much closer then - less clicks --:)
 
so ive been reading the thread but so far ive found nothing

is there any pictures of the krinker model coming in? and price suspected point?
wonder if its worth waiting or if i should just get a normal restricted model and have it chopped down

Dont chop a chrome barrel - while a good cut can be made to shorten the barrel - the gas hole enlargement may cause problems - {chrome flaking off}
then its junk.
I have heard the new krinks are factory , not cut downs , and they are NON chrome barrels.
 
for the price these just seem like a good rifle to have and beat on, cheap ammo helps to (i think ill buy 5 or 6 crates now to avoid the shortage later)

im selling old text books now which means ive got enough for one of these or for a new .22 pistol
 
is the only difference between the vz58s and vz58l or cz858 the barrel length which makes it restricted and non restricted... and the chrome barrel is another diff is that all tho?
