VZ-58s and more...FAQs are Post 1

Q: Considering this monster thread, what do you think of the VZ-58 type rifle?

  • It is a beauty as it comes, and a must have, since it drives Libs bonkers.

    Votes: 1,507 70.4%
  • It is best pimped out and dressed up, a far cry from an NDP convention.

    Votes: 407 19.0%
  • It is true it was the first cool gun in the Cdn. market for a long while, but I'll pass.

    Votes: 166 7.7%
  • It makes me think of snide remarks, as I am a gun snob and the 58 is affordable.

I have been busy lately. I planted the seed for this threat and the Troll one. It's good to see they carry on.

I like making stocks and this sleeve goes over the folder...

And then I made a new pistol grip and Hungarianish...sorta pistol grip fore-end. It was larger in the beginning, but the mag would get caught up, so it got shorter and wider. I call it 'teardrop' and it is actually very ergonomic and effective even it is is weird looking, or 'fugly' as the usually naysayers say.

On both (pistol grip soon) I think I did a fair job painting the wood to look like the red plastic. I know.....but I actually like that look.

PS: A real soldier. Just for laughs....

Someone asked this already but it was never really answered: How easy is it to use the iron sights with a telescopic AR stock? I'm thinking about this mod and I need some advice here.

The unit slants down and is not straight like the AR series. So no problem. They are being used in combat right now, so that says something.

The stockless 58s used in that attack were hidden in violin cases.:runaway:

Feedback on this prototype stock.

To each his own. I am a traditionalist. I do like the Israeli stuff a great deal, and the G36 stock, but somehow any attempt to make a 58 an M16/M4 leaves me unimpressed. On the other hand, the sporty Dragunov type stock is very comfortable. I recommend them highly for comfort and the increased length (for large users). The 58 is a wonderful system, but built for wee folk.

I knew that, man.
But over here they started to talk things about you and your silence
(especially that palinak guy).
This is what he posted about you:

But I never believed them:D
I knew you were on a mission and you'd be back.
There's nobody happier than me that you are back:)
You are my hero:cool:

I love to put these guys in trouble with each other:evil:

Magazines are ready to be shipped here ...I received paper work for them on Thursday so we can start with the import process.

Right on  Thank you

Knives are black carbon steel ....they are very sharp and can be sharpened.
They were designed for several Czech special military units and we actually needed permission from the Czech military to bring them here. So far people that saw them seemed to really like them.

Do you have any in stock? How much? :D

I tried calling you ......but then I realized you were on vacation in the dominican republic when I found these pics of you

Working holiday - huh? I guess all the fulltime PSC's are in Iraq which creates a new kind of vacation travel "the vacation security contractor"
I hear it's the latest trend in travel. :D

I ain't lookin through 300 posts soooo... Let's say I buy a VZ-858 with the non-chrome barrel. What is the procedure to keep it clean so as not to destroy it with corrosive ammo?

Yeah, I have to admit,
that pic was taken when I forgot the combination from my gun safe
and I was going to try to open it with the oxy-fuel torch:cool:

However, the other one is not mine.
It looks too hillybilly for me, so you may want to ask Armedsask:D

Holla!

VZ means Vzor, or model, so he is not incorrect in calling it such. These designations are made up anyhow, and most 58s are not even CZs.

I'd hate to take Lector to Africa. He'd go heart of darkness and never come back.

The whole VZ/CZ/CZH/Samopal etc. thing has me confused. Is there a thread or something where I can figure out who produces what?

This might have some of the info you want

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sa_58

Anyone know if Marstar is getting more 58s and 58l's in before Christmas I emailed twice but never got a response.
