VZ-58s and more...FAQs are Post 1

Q: Considering this monster thread, what do you think of the VZ-58 type rifle?

  • It is a beauty as it comes, and a must have, since it drives Libs bonkers.

    Votes: 1,507 70.4%
  • It is best pimped out and dressed up, a far cry from an NDP convention.

    Votes: 407 19.0%
  • It is true it was the first cool gun in the Cdn. market for a long while, but I'll pass.

    Votes: 166 7.7%
  • It makes me think of snide remarks, as I am a gun snob and the 58 is affordable.

Sounds good. Please read the VZ-58 and more thread if you have two days. Most people are looking for a scope mount of one kind or another. I'd like to see a G36 type over rail system. Go to vz58.net for some of the parts we get. The guy there could probably find a bipod for you.

muzzle thread protector

So I depressed the little schnib that keeps the thread protector in place, and now it wont pop back up...Do I just keep poking at it till it bends to my will?or is there something else going on here?

Guys,
I am looking for a Vz bipod to use to reproduce them here in the US. I will need to completely take it apart to get all the different measurements, so I would rather buy one outright than borrow one. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have a borrowed on now to get external measurements thanks to Obiwanbonjovi.

Why don't you guys put those newly milled receivers that you've got down in the states to good use and make us a vz-58 pistol?......... with specifically marked 10 round pistol mags of course :) Those would sell like HOTCAKES

Exactly. Short barrel, no stock, and that single stack 10 shot magazine. Mark the magazine with the words 10 shot pistol magazine and the receiver as a pistol. With a good price, I'd bet two or three.

Working on a Cetme pistol at the moment. I am following Cntrailriders lead. It will look like a HK51 when I get it finished.

In the US. Ohio Rapid Fire has some new HK flats and here we can build a pistol for personal use as long as the receiver has never been built into a rifle. And if you are wondering, the forward pin on the trigger pack is for looks. The pin ends are glued into the housing. It is what is called clipped and pinned.

If it hasn't resolved itself already, you could be in trouble, but it should eventually pop free. Odds are it's got a bit of cosmo or oil on the back of it and it has glued itself in there. Maybe a little hot water would encourage the oil to loosen up a bit, but just poking it a lot and wiggling it should be all it takes... I'm still talking about your cz by the way.;)

har de har har!!thanks wally, the schniblet did give it up after much encouragement....sorta like another unmentionable source of grief tends to .....

Cheers, I am going in to fix our EDM machine tommorow. Sounds like a good opportunity to do some "test cuts".:D

On a side note I am now done developing my muzzle break. Thought you gys might like to see it. I have now switched my "improved cold blueing" to a full on Parkerizing. I am very happy with the results. The brake only slightly changes POI and helps with muzzle rise and recoil quite well. This is my 5th attempt to make one and I think I am pretty much there. I have made one now that looks identical to VZ58.net's and it also works very good but I wasnt looking to copy there design and was more intent on making
a "developed in Canada" brake that looks equally as cool. Let me know what you think.
