That would be fine as long as the top guard can be removed easily for cleaning. Even better if you could still use the iron sights in a pinch.

Could make one that came up and then straight back and then have two dog point set screws go into the holes that support the front of the ramp of the sight? To remove you would just have to loosen the three screws, two at the sight and one clamping the barrell and then slide it forward for cleaning.? If you have time and could do me a favour and have calipers take a reading at the point were the front guard mount turns from from round to flat. mine is .620.
In the US. Ohio Rapid Fire has some new HK flats and here we can build a pistol for personal use as long as the receiver has never been built into a rifle. And if you are wondering, the forward pin on the trigger pack is for looks. The pin ends are glued into the housing. It is what is called clipped and pinned.
u don't understand, if you could build us a vz.58 pistol with 10 round mags you would achieve wizard level 39 status on CGN
I like the first one, How does the last one work? what about something that mounted inbetween the stock and the action and then carried a rail right to the front of hand guard. Could make it high enough to clear the bolt etc and then you could put the sight were ever you want. Probably have to be steel though for strength over that distance
I once saw an AK rail that attacked to the rear sight holes and locked at the rear. It releases from the rear, swings up on the rear sight holes for disassembly. You snap it down when ready.

Deck brings it to a new level, though, what w/ his cut'n paste and clip art collection..
