So...why is left folding (like in the picture above) desired over right folding? I don't quite get it.

I requested it so, and I'm not the only one. It allows safety to be used and firing while folded with that big stock.

Hmmm, I can see the value in that but you're also giving up three point sling carry and access to folder from that carry. You're also making it quite hard, if not impossible to shoulder carry on your back with the stock folded as the sling is on the same side as your folded stock.

An easier mod would be to have the safety switch put on the left and activate it with the thumb a la AR 15...in my humble, worthless opinion.

Use a $2 wave washer from a gmc jimmy hood hinge noise bullitin...let me look up the part number for you...

I'd say Big Red is right. That's a single mag inside that tape. Two double-stack mags would look wider than the one in the picture.

I looked it up. The adapters in the pics are a modular system. Several setups may be configured. As you see it there is- the StormWerkz Vz-58 Stock Adapter, the Stock Folding Mech, and the Universal Carbine Adapter. I price three items out at @ $140. ACE stocks also fit, but I am not sure of the availability of those.

Now there is still another hinge coming which is dedicated to the factory fixed stock. This is what I really like! That will be a left folding and at the same angle as the factory stock. The dedicated hinge will be $55. This one is Deck's choice, but to each his own.

I can post a pic tomorrow but sorry no safety sear that would constitue an illegal machinegun here. The imported rifles have the tab on the carrier. Ohio Rapid Fire sells a trigger group that has a disconnector with the lump moved rearward supposedly enough to fix it. I have some sets I will check and see if lump is far enough back

why is safety sear illegal when you guys are allowed to shoot machinegun????

The only machineguns that are legal for civilians to own were in civie hands by 1986. They require a $200 tax be paid and a lengthy application process in order to transfer them. The cheapest machinegun you can buy is an m11 for about $5k an m16 will run you about 15k. I am unaware of any transferable vz58's and if there were they would fetch quite a pretty penny.
