VZ-58s and more...FAQs are Post 1

Q: Considering this monster thread, what do you think of the VZ-58 type rifle?

  • It is a beauty as it comes, and a must have, since it drives Libs bonkers.

  • It is best pimped out and dressed up, a far cry from an NDP convention.

  • It is true it was the first cool gun in the Cdn. market for a long while, but I'll pass.

  • It makes me think of snide remarks, as I am a gun snob and the 58 is affordable.

My baby. I'm still waiting for my muzzle brake to show up. I have a green laser on the right and a 3 watt Cree LED flashlight on the left.

I have a question. Mine is listed as a CZ 858 tactical 4v, restricted. Is this on the list as well?

The reason I ask is because everyone else I know with a CZ858 is listed as non-restricted.

EWWWWW!!!!!!!:jerkit: Why tac out such a beautiful machine????

So, the CZ 858 is a fairly popular rifle it seems.

That's good, I'm rather glad it has such widespread appreciation.

Apparently in Edmonton, they're harder to come by.

I talked to the guy from P&D recently and he said they can't keep them on the shelves long at all.

This is both good and bad, as I'm definitely interested in purchasing one, and the increased popularity helps ensure that it's more difficult to ban to an extent. (it will not disappear quietly)

However this also means they're quite scarce.

58 upper handguard replacement

If any of you, 58 nutz, can provide some instructions and photos/video on how to replace the wood composite upper handguard with a Fab Defence molded plastic one (with rails), I'd greatly appreciate. I was able to replace the lower one, no luck with the upper one.

Waiting for your help,

albog
