So for no reason whatsoever, I'm thinking of getting a new NR barrel on my Skorpion...
Yes, I understand that the gun won't function very well as a result and will need much stronger recoil springs, but all I need is to get it out of the registry.
Thoughts? Comments? Suggestions for a gunsmith that can do something like this and won't give me too much of a runaround that it really won't be a functional firearm as a result?
From what I understand the barrel is pressed into the upper receiver. I'm not really eager to, but I guess I can try making the barrel myself (I'm a totally wet behind the ears as a machinist and definitely have no experience turning barrels from a blank yet but I have access to equipment and a retired master machinist/tool maker to guide me). Feel free to suggest sources of barrel blanks or old barrels that can be turned down.
