VZ 858 gremlin

I finally had a chance to shoot my new VZ 858 today and ran into a problem.
after firing afew rounds the gun would eject the spent casing then chamber a round but the sear would not catch the striker. this happened on and off for the first 60 rounds and slowly went away but still happens once in awhile.
any one else ran into this? also it only happens when I follow through with my shot. but when I snap the trigger fast it does not happen.

I know this is an obvious question, but have you cleaned all the grease out of the gun?

the gun is spotless and was never packed in grease and yes i cleaned it

Ah yes....the "CZ 858 gremlin"...what a perfect name. That's what I'm gonna call it from now on. I've sent a pm to Dsiwy but to anyone elese expearinceing this problem you have two choises:

1.) Return/Exchange the rifle

2.) Buy a parts Kit from Wolverine, gut out the rifle and replace all internal parts. (Ask for a wood stock set in your kit while your at it too, cheepskates!)

I Could never nail down the cause but I suspect it was either the sear or trigger assemblies. At any rate, after I replaced them both (along with the bolt carrier but not the bolt) my rifle no longer fails to catch the striker.

Failure to fire after chambering a round.

Not so much failure to fire, but a failure of the sear to catch and hold the striker. The striker simply follows the bolt the entire cycle. Thus, a live round is chambered, yet the rifle is not "cocked".

Part swap worked and the gremlin is dead thanks lungman
I replaced the Bolt carrier, trigger assy., striker, sear and sear spring
and shoots prefect now
