I am looking for a red dot for my new 858. was going between a sparc or strike fire. any other opinions? other ones I should be looking at? i wanna keep it around the 200 mark

Bushnell TRS-25. I have a Sparc and prefer the Bushnell.

Not to highjack the thread but which optics also offer the option of co-witnessing with the iron sights on the 858?

If you want to co-witness you have to have the NEA handguard and either a TRS-25 or Aimpoint Micro, if you want the irons to be usable at all distances they can be set at. You can get a single-distance co-witness with a Sparc if you put the rear sight at 300 or 400 m and adjust the front sight to get the zero you want.

The best thing is to try before you buy.
Some people like the Spark & some like the Strike Fire. If you are like me and enjoy a clear field of view while targeting & shooting than a Strike Fire is more for you. Now if you want a small light wieght optic than a Spark is what you are looking for. Although if I was looking at a Spark or Bushnell TRS-25 I would vote for neither. I would look for a fast fire or similar type of optics. Just my 2 cents.

i find the vortex's (strikefire at least) dot a bit more crisp than the trs25, the vortex seems better constructed aswell, and has a lifetime warranty....

If I were you, I would save up a bit more and try to get an Aimpoint CompM2/M3 series. Ive seen them for like 300-350ish used on the EE, and theyre basically bulletproof. Run them in a very low ring and you should be able to cowitness.

If you're doing alot of heavy shooting I would go with an aimpoint.

This is just a fun project gun. I went with the strikefire. I have it on my AR and it gets er done. I am a very casual shooter. the gun probably wont see 500 rounds in its life time. Plus the ammo source sale made it irresistible.
