VZ-858 Pistol Grip scope mount

I can't see that being a very sturdy mounting point, if i'm understanding what you are asking.
Depends on the way the base would rest on the left side. There could be a fixed or tunable abutment.
The grip attachment point is quite sturdy and it could hold the part very well, at least as well or better than the usual thin section receiver-side drill'n tap mounting.

Ya I did a long time ago PP but there was never any intrest with it.

Well, I think this one could be the answer to my quest if it only had a lower profile over the bore.
Coupled with an Ace folding stock or a conventional one with heightened comb, this would surely do the job and not require drilling and tapping. I want to mount a very short optic with normal eye-relief to keep the stripper clip loading feature and also avoid scope banging.
Do you have better close-ups?

It had to be that high over the rear cover to allow the bolt carrier to come out with out the need to take the mount off and on again for cleaning sake. I will try to find some better pic's if I can find them. As for the mount well that's another story. I might have to re-make it for ya, to take some pic's.

Oh that won't be necessary. I'm pretty sure the grip anchor can provide a very sturdy base to build from. The only thing is that I don't want to unrivet the original stamped sheet steel grip base on my nice and clean VZ. Maybe I'll have to buy a used and abused 858 receiver for experimentation.
I'd favor a two piece mount where the vertical arm would be removable thus permitting cleaning chores. The tricky part is in insuring the total indexing of that part to guarantee a proper return to zero but it can be done.
I'll think it over for a while and come back.
