Lads........
Have noticed my little friend seems to be unable to clear its breech of its own casings. Likes to put the bite on every 5th round or so. Happens more often than I'd like to see. Certainly doesn't clear like the AK or the Galil. Seems to have a limp wristed style to "case ejection",but I certainly can't see why it would. Does anyone else have this problem or is this typical of the design?

Regards
Waldo

Sorry mon, all the cz/csa rifles are working great so far. couldnt tell ya what the problem is, maybe extractor is f'ed up or you are limp wristing. which i dont think is the prob though.

My 858 chucks brass like a champ, so it's not inherent to the design.

X2 on Satain will chime in and X2 on extractor f'd up. If the rifle cycles properly there should be plenty of energy to throw brass in the air.

:agree: with Stevo but the thing that get's me is the fact that you stated...
Seems to have a limp wristed style to "case ejection",but I certainly can't see why it would.
Could you please post back the excate model of the "limp" firearm in question including caliber?
Also...
Get an M14 brass brush and dip it in some laquer thinner and scrub the chamber. Then buy a compound called JB Bore Cleaner and follow the directions and on use it in the chamber only. Try to make it look like a mirror finish. This should correct the ripping issue unless there is a short chamber problem. Although it is rare it has been reported in the past. As for the limp ejection problem once I know the model type and caliber I can tell you what I think might work to fix it.
As for me knowing rifle stuff thanx 4 the kind wordz but there are way more knowledgable people on this site than me. Especaily when it comes to red rifles.

Sticky chamber would explain the mangled brass. Have you run crates of ammo through it without much cleaning?

When I went through my first 500 rounds with my new CZ, every so often I'd get one that would kinda stand up rather than eject causing stoppages. Haven't had one since. Could have been a bad round or 3.

Lazy ejection...

Thanks for your input guys. Specifically the gun is a CZH 2003. I think I'll find that the chamber has been somewhat neglected in the neck area as I've already given the body of it a careful reaming with 500 grit to remedy the mild frosting. I'll be getting one of those neat little inspection tools today and checking it out. There is nothing else wrong with it so's far as I can see. The empties literally tumble out instead of "makin for the moon". I have a feeling I'll be looking for a new bbl........
I'll post what I find tonight for those of you that are interested.
Thanks again all!
RJ

The CZH 2003 were the main rifles that I have noticed with major headspace issue's and also worn out barrel's. Dlask offer's rebarreling service for this rifle platform although they are busy these day's and they only have high end barrel's that they can replace with it. Although they do make a muzzle device for the 858 platform that should give your rifle the extra thump to eject the spent casing's.

Solved.....

Evening Lads,
For those of you that have any interest....
I had a look at the chamber and although it didn't look like a Lilja or something, it did in fact look fine enough.
I was using '73 chek ammo. S/B.
I checked for function of the gas system be holding my thumb on the action 1" ahead of the dust cover knowing that if it was good, this might hurt a little....
No hurt......Not enough energy transfer for some reason.....
Sized the gas port with a no. drill. It was .116" so I opened it up to .133" or so.
PERFECT!!!
Flings brass a good 6 ft!!!!

For now..
Waldo
