Hi,

I'm about to pickup a VZ, its an AK I don't care what you say lol in 7.62.

I just would like to know on magazines, I've seen guys use an adapter to put in XCR mags (10 rds) is this true? Because this rifle is going to be my main game (non restricted hell yeah).

Initially I was going to get the 5.56 variant to run beowulf mags with an adapter but I said #### no because of the price of 556 nowadays.

But there is no denying that the VZ is on par with the AK in terms of scope of use. (same with ARs, but thats besides the point)

Want to keep it reliable ?

Buy the VZ, buy a #### ton of ammo, use the stock magazine.

The VZ58 platform may have the outside appearance of an AK, but the comparison stops there.

I think your conclusion on this is based on the fact that its a "combat rifle" by basic design. If thats how you think, then I guess in terms of use, the VZ is the same as the Lee Enfield, SKS, Mosin and any other rifle who's basic design routes go back to military use. Kind of a silly comparison if you ask me.
 
What Canadiankeeper said and if you are going to use this a your main game rifle, stay clear of any unwanted attention in regards to the mags. You are way more exposed out in the bush than on the range to scrutiny from the law.
Many posts here on guys out hunting or shooting getting their 10 round mags, although legal, confiscated and charged, then returned, charges dropped, etc...blah blah....too much bs IMO
Keep it factory, buy lots of 5 rnd mags
 
No, I said it was an AK at heart (not like inside the gun but you get it, Eastern Europe used by the military blablabla) during the time of the AKs invention. It also does a little better in some departments of lower end AKs. So I meant it can be used as an AK replacement, not to get carried away.. After all, im Justin Trudeau and I base fireyarms off their look.

+1 Canadiankeeper - thats what im trying to bring accross.
 
That makes sense, Ottawa doesn't have alot of ranges. I'll just see as it goes (im doing optic shi*t and rails on it, and that thing is out of stock m, NR ftw)!

So you want to buy a CZ because its a AK at heart but you want to buy and install a mag adapter and use mags that don't really look AK-ish?

Your comments confound me as much as that scumbag you are named after.
