Hey all

I am looking to put some wood on my CSA sporter.
It has the adjustable stock.
I looked through the stickies and seen nothing about how to swap out the adjustable stock and make it look good
Is there a way to do it on this model?

i did the same thing, but i went with the synthetic version , i removed the buffer tube without using a castle nut wrench, i used a strap wrench on the tube itself, then removed the adapter from the receiver with the correct allen key, the wooden stock you want will need the hardware to secure it to the reciever, the cheek weld will be lower, and length of pull is reduced to about the second setting from the lowest on your existing adjustable ar stock

Thanks, any chance you have a picture of how it turned out.

hows the lower cheek weld work out, currently after any amount of shooting at the range I end up with bruising on the cheek which is the why I want to change it out?

Thanks

joe

it looked cool and i liked how the lop was adjustable with the ar style, but the ergonomics just weren't what felt right to me , plus it would grab my facial hair where the stock and buffer tube met
for use with the iron sights the beaver barf/synthetic are actually more suited, I have the nea upper and lower hand guard with a scout scope as well as one with a trs 25 , no complaints with cheek weld, the only complaint is that I'm a lefty and the sling mount is on the left side, either way, its the same with the gas block.
not sure how to add pics
hope my input helps

Its simple and takes maybe 5 min to do. Only hard part is taking off the castle nut (I didn't care about denting the collapsible stock so I just smacked it with a hammer and screwdriver till it started to turn then unscrewed the buffer tube).

Alright lets see if this helps

First you want to back off the castle nut

Now you're going to screw out the buttstock and buffer tube from the adapter on the rifle

Next your going to unscrew the allen head screw from the rifle that is holding on the adapter onto the rifle

And the adapter just falls off

Now you're going to need the wood stock and a long flat head screwdriver to screw in the bolt for the stock

Screw in the bolt

Now the bluttplate and sling swivel are held on the rifle like this

Screw the buttplate on

And your done!

Same as the full stock, remove old stock and adapter and screw in the new one

Where is the best place to look for the wooden stocks. I've been looking at getting a VZ58 for a while but everything is the synthetic stock with the AR style adjustable stocks. I REALLY don't like the looks of them like that. I have asked the couple shops I frequent if they would ever bring in a barf wood stock just for me but have been told no because they will not sell.

So now I am trying to figure out where I can get the wood for when I am ready to actually pick up a VZ58
