Hi,I just bought Vz24,and I would like to know the year of manufacture.here some info I got,thank for your help

Acceptance Mark:E3 lion 37

Manufacturer:Brno

Receiver Ring Marking:RAMPANT LION

Left side Markings:E3 lion 37

Right side Markings:TINY FIGURE (LION?)

Side Rail Marking:CESKOSLOVENSKA ZBROJOKVA,A.S,BRNO VZ 24

37 is the year the rifle was accepted into czech military service. That means it was either made in very late 1936 or in 1937.

IMHO, your information would come from the suffixes H4, rather than the serial number.

The E3 lion 37 would be the series model.

Brno, like most manufacturers of Mauser rifles, numbered the rifles from 0001-9999, then changed the suffix or prefix for every consective lot of 9999 rifles.
