Hello. I have a Vz58 in 223 cal. the Ejected brass Rises 25 to 30 feet in the air above my head. I changed the gas piston Spring because it was damaged & then broke. With a new spring In place not much change In the height that the brass reaches. The brass is heavily dented from the bolt and the ejector claw really Tears up the bottom of the Fired brass. Using surplus ammo. This may be normal but would like some input. Thank you

Had to send mine to movie armment group to be warrentied, they changed the piston and bolt that was defective. runs better now but still has a few stopages but at least it goes bang lol

they did the same to my vz 58 too, good warrenty but still the gun is a piece of ####,so many people having issues with it,not worth the money u pay for it..only good for display not for uses

I got mine back from Movie Arms and haven't yet been able to try it but with warranty service that CSA has, it was well worth the money I payed for the gun. If it happens again, send it back to Movie Arms, simple as that.

I would suggest you contact Graham at Movie Arms about you're issue. Movie Arms didn't take long to get it done too. I live way in BC and it took 3 weeks. I'm a cheapskate so I only paid for snail ground shipping which took 8 days to arrive.

Ive got a CSA 11.8 carbine in 5.56. Only about 100 rds through it, no issues yet. What seems to be the main issue with these? Ive seen suggestions that the gas port is too large so a new piston is required. Are these available from Movie Arms? Do lthey sell a parts kit that may resolve the issue?

Basically speaking how high Approximately. If you have noticed When firing your vz 58 .223 cal Do the ejected rounds reach Into the sky. Thanks again Brutus.

Sure it throws brass. Mine has over 5000 rounds through it and no issues yet. It did not like mfs ammo or ump ammo but it does like americian eagle black box and that cheap norinco 223 thats around.

now maybe we can make a thread with can your rifle eject the empty in the space ?

you probably have one of those were the gas port is drilled too big , you should send it for warranty i think because if you didnt correct that you will have some faillure with some other parts

Its the 7.62x39 gas hole is too large for .223 rifles. I'm unsure if some workers, while they were making the rifles, accidentally drilled 7.62x39 holes in some that were meant for a .223 model rifle because it seems that not all of them are affected. I would get into contact with Graham at Movie Arms and send it off to have it inspected if its older than 2014. Its free because of your warranty and its pretty fast too. I live way on the other side of the country and it only took them 3 weeks from me sending it to them, to them sending it back to me.

As much at these issues are annoying, at least CSA has a top notch warranty service that backs their product. If the gun has a problem with in the next 3 years, just send it off. If the gun is @#$%ed, they send you a new one.

What models are affected? What serial number range?

I heard someone say the NR 18.5" versions didn't suffer from this problem. Any truth to that?

just bought my vz58 yesterday, although i only was able to shoot in inside at the gun range, i was real surprised by how the ejection port worked, it shoots straight up in the air... and seems to go pretty hard and fast, the roof is fairly low at range so didn't see how far it would go but I'm sure this things could easily do 10ft! was weird, but I'm reading a little all over CGN and people seem to talk about ejection ports and gas chamber holes are too big? i shot about 160 rounds through it last night and seemed to work just good! aims real well (iron sights) and feels awesome! so far very pleased with this product, but what I'm wondering is should i be expecting something to be fixed (hearing something about movie arms) need clarification on that!

Thanks

What barrel length?

Since the ejection issues We've had another problem. I think they call it a slam fire or out of breach fire Safety glasses a must. Glad my boy wasn't at the trigger He usually shoots more rounds then me. The percussion felt like a punch in the cheek With powder Burns. Brass was reaching an all-time high. It's in the mail to movie arms.
