VZ58 223 slam Fire F'N out of control rifle

I don't have this problem. Mine is flawless
Because AKs and the VZs are so similar this must be the issue. How many of this 13k posts you have actually have helped someone.

I had some slam fires the first few mags in mine but never any FTF or FTE. I've put a couple thousand rounds of every kind of ammo and I've never had any light strikes either. What year was the manufacture date?

Send it off to North Sylva and they'll deal with it.

There have been tons of problems with these, don't hate the messenger(s) for saying so - as it's the truth. No wonder Wolverine blew these out at a loss a little while back and sold them AS IS. I've seen less problems with the 7.62x39 versions reported, but the CSA are way more problematic than the CZ, FSN or CZH versions ever were.

Get it fixed by North Sylva and you should be good to go. I'd rather have you do that and try to fix it yourself and possibly have injuries to the shooter. Over-gassing, bolt problems plagued this model.

That was my plan but I can't get the firing pin out. Completely seized in the firing pin channel.

I removed the extractor and spring, soaked it in CLP and tapped it on a block of wood to get the pin to come free after I worked it a bit back and forth with a dental pick and a 1/8" drift punch.

So I have just discovered my VZ58 in 223 is a f'n possessed rifle. Not exactly sure wtf is going on.

So picked this rifle up a couple months ago off a cgn'r who said it ran great and had recently been tuned up by a well known dealer. So last month took it to the range and banged off less than 10 rounds of Norc ammo and had some fail to feed and fail to eject. Lite primer strikes as well. Thought it might be the ammo so ordered up some American eagle 55gr , swapped in a magwell adapter so I can feed it LAR mags.

So today hit the range and when I pulled the bolt back and let it fly.. Boom slam fire and a fail to eject. I'm like, wtf.. Pull the mag clear the stoppage and drop the bolt on another round and it chambers. Pull the trigger and boom, fail to eject. Clear the stoppage drop the bolt boom slam fire. Three more rounds chambered and three more clicks when there should have been a bang, lite primer hits and one more slam fire.

So wtf... Any idea who I should send this to in order to fix it. Gotta say this was a monumental range day disappointment.

get a real gun

Lots of us make mistakes and get burned by others. Trader rating helps only somewhat.

The OP bought a used rifle -- it's a bit difficult to blame CSA for his rifle when the rifle's history is pretty much an unknown. It could have been a lemon from the factory or the rifle's problems could be due to poor maintenance. No one, outside of the original owner I suppose, knows.

At any rate, the only problem I have with CSA (off topic) was their decision to use soft steel for the castle nut on their M4 style tube. I talked to a guy at CSA about this and he acknowledged that they might need to change to a harder steel. I ended up ordering one on the web that was better than the stock castle nut. That and the firing pin assembly is a pain in the ass to reassemble.
