Why has nobody bastardized a VZ to bolt action yet for 30 round mags?
I'd buy one just to get the mags!!!The better question is which dealer is working on importing VZ pistols?

I think even with a bolt action vz, the mags would still have to be pinned.

I don't want a pistol that fires 7.62 X39 in canada.... because then all the surplus ammo that has steel penetrators become illegal as they can be fired from a "commonly available" semi automatic pistol as per CBSA D19
Right. Perhaps then you can explain why green tip 5.56 isn't illegal despite LAR pistols being available? IMHO this fear is overblown... Let's focus on stuff that's actually an issue.

Here's an idea for the dealers... Sell the VZ pistol AT COST to 50 lucky CGN'ers & legitimize the pistol as 'commonly available' here in Canada...
THEN, MAKE A FRICKEN MINT SELLING PISTOL MAGS!!!
Cheers

All of you want a dealer to step up to be the hero, but nobody wants to risk it themselves?
Some one be the hero. Buy one, get someone to import it, or at least offer to import it, and get it sent to the lab to get verified as a pistol so it can get its own FRT number as a pistol.
Then watch the mags come.
Offset the risk, with making a deal with some dealer that will import to get a cut.
Maybe I'm dreaming though. It is late.
We would need more than just a few people importing these pistols and I don't think there would be a chance in hell unless a dealer jumped in. What number constitutes "commonly available"?
I have to ask.... when was the last time green tip ammo came up for sale in any real quantity? or IVI 62.5 grain C77? Last time I checked the supply had all but dried up.
Is the pistol that shoots the 7.62 ammo considered a common semi automatic pistol though? because that right there is the qualifier to make a caliber prohib to posses an AP round for
I have seen comments that indicate there are only a few dozen LAR-15 pistols registered in Canada. Some of the people commenting should know, but it is not verified by anything official I have seen. I think to be considered "commonly available" there has to be an FRT # in the system and possibly a dealer willing to import one.
