VZ58 and CZ 858 - Whats the difference? Why is one $1k and the other $700?

If AKs (Valmets aside) weren't prohib by Statists, the popularity of the VZ/CZ would be cut to 1/100th of what it is.

That would be awesome...mainly because I could buy more VZs, cheap. I have plenty of time on AKs and I think the VZ is a significantly better rifle.

Does anyone know how to read the vz58 serial number. To when the gun was made?

Look on the right side opposite of serial number, it should be marked by a 2 digit number of year.

I read that there was a bad run of the rifles sometime ago. I bought my rifle last year from sfrc. I want to know if my rifle was made during the years when they were having problems
