VZ58/CZ858 Folding Stock question

I recently acquired a surplus cz858 folding stock. It locks in the folded position but not in the open position. Are all like this or is there something wrong with mine??

Did you install it on CZ 858 or CSA VZ 58?

If it is CSA Vz58 they are bit thicker then military specifications VZ 58 rifles, try to install it in locked position and push on it during installation to give it some minimal offset

858 and the mounting screw is covered when in the locked position. There is a tab on the arm that keeps the stock from opening fully. If it was a few mm shorter im sure it would lock. I don't like the idea of filing it down though

You are on the right track: many new milsup folding stocks do not lock "out of the box" and require a bit of filing the tab until it locks. Did that myself. I also bent it a bit, since it did not lock up in folding position too as it was hitting the receiver before locking. Do not overdo or it might wiggle.
With all these comblock rifles - get use to Russian habits of tweaking/improving/fixing something which bought brand new. You lucky you did not live there, since this approach applies for all the new things over there, including cars as well.

Update! Did some filing and it locks now. Whew
