VZ58 in 7.62x51 is possible if there is enough interest.

Correct me if I'm wrong but in order to run 5.45x39 all you would need is a new barrel. If that is the case 5.45x39 makes the most sense because you would not need to redesign the whole gun..

The 5.45x39 has a smaller rim diameter than the 7.62... 10mm compared to 11.35mm. It's not a necked down version of the 7.62... What would be cool is if they built a VZ in 6.5 Grendel and had a built in AR mag adapter.

Great idea! I want to get a Saiga 12gauge so badly but it's a prohibited AK variant in Canada.

A VZ58 in 12gauge is a genius idea, make it compatible with Saiga mags, which are very plentiful stateside - in all sizes, even drums, and you've got a hands down winner.

I'd pay, $1000 - $1200 for one. I think this has even more sales potential than the .proposed .308 version, so far as I know there is no mag fed semi auto shotgun on the canadian market.

Just look at how popular Saigas are in the US, this is an untapped market here - business 101, supply and demand.

Sooo true! That's a great idea!
I would be buying one of these 7.62x51 if they came out tho

Has anyone heard anything from N.S. on this proposition?

It seems to me that the Saiga line in the USA sells well, in many calibers, if someone was able to get VZ58s produced in multi calibers they'd be sitting on a gold mine.

I would buy a VZ58 in 7.62x51 without question, now if a 12ga VZ58 was built I would sell as many guns as needed to buy one of those!

While I won't be able to buy one of these, it would still be great to see them made.
