Maybe we could get a picture thread going for this? Seeing as there is a m14 in modern military thread in the Main Battle Rifles forum.

If you run a gun as it was designed (proper barrel length and caliber) you don't have issues - issues come almost entirely from messing around with the design.
These guys must be special forces, need that special training to carry around a big bag of spare bolts and firing pins where ever they go.
Pardon my ignorance, but is there a big difference between those and AK-47 or AK-74?
Other than the round they use, no nothing similar.

Explain 16" AK barrels and 23" RPK barrels. Same design.
An extra 4" of barrel is easy to compensate.
