Just wondering if there anyone else that got a bad mag out there with the new chrome bore vz58s from Marstar? Its the 5/10 mag, The 5/30 mags work flawless.

I insert the mag, pull the bolt carrier back but goes about an inch then jams, it wont even cycle to chamber a round.

The one I got that is messed seems to be bigger pain to get it exchanged since anyone I call is out of mags.......so at least i got 3 out of 4 that work

I bought it from a store though not from marstar...but it did originate at marstar. I tried calling marstar but never get a person and the warranty I read stated that the warranty is good only for a certain time period leaving marstar, so if i buy it from a store who knows how long they had it for...so i assume I cant return the mag.........I also bought a tokarev and it shoots 1 ft to the left even at 10 feet....so i assume I am crap out of luck........I am not an experienced gun buyer

Is there visible damage to the crown on your Tokarev? It shouldn't be THAT inaccurate. Mine was a bit of a hose itself, but it wasn't anything depressing.

Also, if it originated from Marstar and is a non-restricted VZ58, then it would be covered by their warranty. None of those have been in the country for more than a year. ;)

The mag may be pinned too high. I have the same problem with a 5/10. 5 rounds will fit in it but there is not enough play, the 5th round prevents the action to be cycled. It is essentially a 4/10 round mag. If you do not want to return it and it really bothers you, you could always file a bit of the follower.

do not file the follower! fix the mag. 5 of the 6 mags i have required me to acually file the mags down to get them to fit in the mag well, not much but still.

 I never even thought of trying 4 rds in the mag, Im not mechanically inclined :D My tool box contents consist of Duct tape, baling wire and a 5lb sledge for delicate work :D

Ahh Ill just send it back, Marstar will fix me up.

If you insert your loaded mag with the action opened, the action should close just fine. I use my defective mag as if it was a fixed mag like on an sks. I do not remove it and I load 5 rounds using stripper clips.

As for filing down the follower, I guess I could have been more clear. Drill out the rivet (so that you can remove the follower), slightly file the leg of the follower that is normally blocked by the rivet and re-pin with a new rivet using the same hole. This will work with the Marstar mags (rivet on the back of the mag).
