VZ58 mag release removal?

Can someone explain the best way to remove the mag release and BHO on the VZ?

do I just drive the pin out?

Don't know about the BEST way, but I just fieldstripped it, popped out the pin (there is a little retaining pin that had to come out first) and in went the new release...total time maybe 3 minutes?

I thought you knew everything about these rifles

you need to remove the bolt carrier then punch out the retaining pin that holds the cross pin. Once you remove that you can punch out the cross pin that holds BHO and mag release. watch for springs shooting out
