Howdy Folks,

New member here; I have an issue that I was hoping some of you kind people might assist in helping me sorting out. I own an OOW VZ 2000 (Vz.58 sporter, with US made reciever [I reside in Texas btw]). I would very much like to upgrade the furniture on this thing, and was informed that www.vz58.net was "The" place to procure what I wanted. I have sent them an e-mail, and left a phone message with them inquiring as to if they export to the US (someone informed me that they did not so I wanted to get the information from the horses mouth). It has been a couple of weeks, and I have received no information from them. I have the money to spend, but am weary of doing business with them, as I have no way of knowing if they are "legit" or not. Would one of you shooters that have done business with them mind clearing the air for me?

Thank you kindly,

Corpus

P.S. I have seen some pictures of VZ's with 20rd. Magazines. I currently only have 30rd. Mags, but would like to add a couple of 20's to the collection. I understand that anything over 5 is prohibited for the Canadian Shooter, but as it's not an issue for me here in Texas, I'd really like to buy a few. Does anyone know who, and where? Thanks again.

Emailing them is slow, I just got a response on an email I sent about 2 weeks ago...

The guy is probably pretty busy, but from I've heard orders go through just fine.

Thank you for the information, and thank you for directing me to that wonderful thread. I will try to make contact with him soon.

I"m also waiting on backorder. I've purchased from VZnet (Paul) before and all went well. Patience grasshopper.:)

Likewise not complaining, we are all at the mercy of delivery times (Suppliers are not immune either). Actually grateful for the optiions brought to use from his efforts.:D

Hmmm, Well, I was a able to contact this gentleman, he seemed very responsive and congenial to me. I had an additional question about getting some 30rd. mags cut down, and I hope the hear back on that one soon. All in all he seemed a decent fella'. The two of you guys who have experienced long wait times; how long are we talking about here? I don't mind waiting a week or two, but more than that is kind of "iffy" to me. Thanks for the kind response everyone.

The item I ordered turned out not to be in stock so I would say my wait time is not typical. IMHO you are not waiting for the dealer mentioned or even those listed above to ship an item if its in stock, they make every effort towards speedy deliver as possible. It is those who are supplying them that most likely is causing the delay. Personally I think it is important to support people who make the effort to bring new options to our market even if that means a little more money or a little longer wait time (not saying this is the case here just making a point). The big picture is that by doing so you also are investing in helping these suppliers to stay afloat and therefore continue to bring new options in the future. O.K with that being said I will only say if time is that important to you maybe be SURE the item is in stock before ordering. Wolverine supplies also now offers many vz and cz goodies that are worth a look.

No, No, don't get me wrong; I'm all for supporting smaller, specialty dealers. I just don't want to order something, and still be waiting for it 2 months later. 2-4 weeks is plenty of time I hope. I'm normally accustomed to ordering something and getting it within a few days though. I usually pay for 2nd Day Air shipping, so as long as a dealer takes my order and ships it within a day or two, it's usually here within the week. I have no problem waiting, but I do have my limits; hence the question. A week or two, as long as 30 days is acceptable for a special order product to me.

Hey fella's, I've got another question that may, or may not relate to an order with VZ58.net, but I was hoping some of you Canadian guys could comment: If I send some 30rd. Magazines (perfectly legal here in Texas) up to him to cut down to 20rd. Magazines, are there any Canadian Laws that might throw a wrench in that plan? I consider myself a highly responsible and law-biding firearms owner, and I want to be square with regards to not only the US but also the Canadian laws. Thanks. (This would be a bulk load of mags; myself and 3 other guys that I shoot with; and come in at around 20 magazines total; they are using me as the guinea pig here as none of us have ever ordered from Canada before).

So, the Texas Legal 30rd Mags can't even be worked on in Canada? Dern. Ok, well, thanks for the heads-up. Much obliged. Anyone got an instruction sheet? LOL. I talked to my gunsmith, and since he had never worked on a VZ mag, he didn't want to mess them up. The VZ is a pretty rare bird down here (one of the reasons to spruce them up for "wow" factor on the range. )
