YaY breaks are in.. I am curious if it will help tame the mule a bit. My cz858 kicks like an ass compared to alot things i've shot. Still no 12, or bolt action but after about 400/600 rounds in the span of a couple hours the shoulder starts to turn funny colors. :D
 
Funny I'm a huge fan of brakes but I've always thought the 58 was realy tame and easy to shoot. I found my old SKS more of a pain then the 58.
 
I have to second that. I consider the VZ to be kind of a "cream puff" with regards to recoil. It's certainly the lightest recoil 7.62x39 rifle that I've ever shot. Now, if you're talking a 30-06, Springfield 1903, yeah, that's an "a**kicker!" The VZ, in my opinion, is easier on the arm than an AR-15 in .223.
 
It isn't that bad, i know, what i was getting at, was that after 400+ rounds your shoulder starts to feel it. I honestly don't care much about the kick.. A nice auto 12 was my preffered gun for years which by FAR exceeds anything that 7.62x39 will throw at you.

It's funny though, when i was shooting my buddies AR (223), i commented, it is like comfort shooting, little muzzle climb, no recoil.

Then i get back on my CZ, bang off a mag, it's night and day difference. Mind you he has all the extras but still, HUGE difference.

I am more getting my break to help with muzzle climb, also. But a second thought was if i can get the recoil to acceptable levels i can get the wife to shoot some riffles.. Since she hogs the pistols...
 
I can only speak for myself here, but I want one because it looks awesome! So, far as the recoil of the .223; for me it's about velocity; a low grain/high velocity round doesn't jive with my bodies electrical system. I would make the comparison between someone jabbing their finger in your shoulder, versus someone punching you in the shoulder. The finger jab hurts me more, and leaves a bruise. The punch rocks me back more, but is more comfortable to deal with for me. That is one of the many reasons I prefer 7.62 anything over 5.56 anything.
