VZ58 Not feeding first round on bolt release.

Just got mine back from North Sylva. Juan their gun smith repaired it for me. It was having major feed issues. First round, last round and rounds in between. He said the front of the bore was two small and he had make it bigger. I also noticed when I got it back he put in a new bolt carrier, new bolt and new piston rod.

I picked up these 6 mags cheap at one point a few years back, they were not czech surplus mags...I think they might have been korean? dont quote me on that but instead of having a gloss these mags were heavier and had a more solid grey color to them.
They do this all the time, I only load it to 4 and it works fine. All my surplus mags work flawlessly. Even after a while the original mags from the vz started to fail on me and do the same as the korean mags but its a bit more scattered if it works or not.

I have had that problem but it's me not ensuring that the rounds are pushed all the way to the back of the magazine....

I have the same problem as you. I bought a new vz58 7.62x39 2 weeks ago, the next day i went to the range and the first time i tried to chamber the first round it jammed. More then half the time the first round jams but other times it will chamber correctly. Once the first round is in i don't have a problem it fires perfect. Ive tried both my mags and they both do the same thing. I'm not sure if I'm being too gentle with the bolt. I haven't been throwing it back but i feel like if I'm pulling it back all the way and then letting it go it should still feed, is that correct or should i be rougher with it and throw it back and let go? I don't want to send it in to get repaired if there's nothing wrong and its me that needs to be repaired haha.

The only time I have had issues feeding the first round into my CSA VZ 58 is with mags from Wolverine that were meant for the CZ 858 (they were cheaper, figured id try 2). My understanding is the VZ 58s mag well is a little different from the cz 858 thus it can give feeding issues on some mags like the Korean mags. I have around 1000 or more rounds through my CSA put almost 500 through it in one go as a torture test, its been good so far and its a 2013 model.
