I would like to know if anyone has tried this mount and what you think of it. In particular I am interested if I can take the dust cover off without having to remove the mount.
I am looking for a low mount that can also clear a left-mounted bolt charging handle on my VZ58 once I do that modification. Thanks.

they are awesome, and return to zero, I personally take mine off overtime to clean it. Takes all of ten seconds to take off and put on.
Worth every cent

Thanks, but I like to leave mine on when cleaning. Can you tell me if you can take the dust cover off of yours with the mount on it? I don't mind doing it that way even if it takes a bit more effort. Thank you.

It's made to be taken off and replaced and return to zero. It excells at it.

I know that but the sling attachment I have does not allow me to easily take a side rail off. I have to remove the stock tube attachment + the sling loop in order to remove the mount. Therefore I am wondering if the dust cover can be taken off with the mount ON the gun.

i have one on my VZ58 Compact sporter. The gun can easily be cleaned without removing the mount,, the dustcover comes off with lots of room under the mount-- no prob at all. I can post pics if you need them. The mount itself NOT come off easily on mine like Gain's. It was a bugger to get on, and its on there for good now!. That being said, I am told this is the absolute best mount for maintaining ZERO, since it is the only one that mounts so solidly to the receiver. It looks wicked cool to boot!

Thank you! Good info. How much clearance is there between the dust cover and the mount? I am thinking of getting this one instead just because it has the center stem in the middle which would make sure there is no interference between it and the left charging handle. Also I can get it locally.

I had one, it wasn't for me.

Several small issues but the big thing for me is that with this on I couldn't shoot my rifle left handed.

I do have pretty large hands, most XL gloves are snug, so this might not be an issue for other folks.

I really did like having an optic back over the action though.

I just noticed your other post -- and didn't pay close attention that the photo at the top of this post is of the new lower scout mount. I have the old style mount and thus more room. I have 1/2" of clearance when removing the receiver dust cover under the mount. Also, i checked the bolt handle, and my mount would interfere with the bolt handle if it was simply switched to the other side. Therefore you will need to get the one like you posted above , for no other reason than to flip the bolt handle. And, if it is the same height as the new scout mount , you will probably need to pull it off to clean. Sheesh! i was no help at all !

Hey, thank you and no worries! I got the VOMZ one because of the extra clearance and I can lower it a bit via removing the screws and milling out excess metal, if needed.

This mount needs to be taken off in order to clean. Not enough room otherwise.

I shoot mine fine and I'm a lefty. I have zero issues with this mount other then weight it adds.

As for the VOMZ mount pictured, it will NOT work with the csa side mount rail.

I believe I have the mount you are referring to, though mine does not specifically say, "LPM - 1H"... it is a csa from Zahal.

I have enough room, about .5" to remove the dust cover. You can pull it apart and drop a bore snake through it but it would be awkward.

Don't mind the dust...

This is not the "LOW" mount. The low mount needs to be removed.

I really want that mount. I just can't stomach the price of the rail you need to buy to mount the mount on with. So I'll be getting a nea mount instead. Considering what we pay, mine cost over $1130.00 those little pieces of metal should have been included in the box.

They use to in the first few new batches into the country then it seems they (either distributor or manufacturer) could make more money off of us by not including them and making us pay handsomely for it.
Goes to show how lots of Americans buy new firearms and they come with 3 or sometimes more mags and we can get zero to 2 mags max usually with the same purchase here.
Go figure

I had the same problem as you did. Here's my solution. I modified a GG&G AR-15 sling plate to cleanly fit the CSA buffer tube.

Yeah it's sad. I'm not falling for it though. Though it's the product I'd rather have, for some reason I find cash grabs to be insulting. I'm bad for that. I'll be renewing my N drivers license for the 2nd time on Monday, lol...
