VZ58 Rear cover rail

Ive seen it on a rifle here before, I cant remember who had it. I found the picture on gunexpert.cz but couldnt find a listing for sale or any other information.
If this actually held zero it would be ideal as you could mount like a 1-4x optic and have it in a low ring, which would make for a cleaner setup than the NEA cantilever.
 
As far as I know that is made by Fab Defense as part of their new non plastic line. They have that as well as their quad rail system. I believe though it was either NEA or Neit Arms that was working on a similar product after their current AR-15 product.

Oh, and some people I believe have been getting those railed dust covers from sa58.cz

[edit] I cant see it mentioned who makes them on the site, just from seeing them in the past im pretty sure they were a fab product.
 
gunexpert.cz do ship to canada they stock them but damn expensive they do have some right cool #### on that website too google translate is the way to go about orders and info..
 
No need to wait for someone to import them, just order direct from GunExpert in the Czech Republic; it will set you back about $400 though.

I guess this is the kind of part that will work in some rifles and not in others. It basically has the same flaw as the SKS mount of the same design: the bolt assembly slams on your scope mount with every shot. It's just not a winning premise, but it may work for some.

Also, at $400 no wonder we don't see more of them.
 
Hey NEA,

Any chance we could see a lower-profile cantilever rail that has the same stock mounting position as the inline, with the rail being a tighter fit to the dustcover?

We have no release date set, but we are working on a railed dust cover and after meeting with our extrusion supplier, a proper VZ quad rail and improved low profile gas block. Both items will work inline with each other.
 
How about a new rear sight which would mount on said railed dust cover like a Galil rear sight, along with a new taller FSB, and have the new quad rail be able to 1/3 cowitness a T1 micro with the irons? With atleast a 13" rail for the non-restricted VZ's. Plus if you could mount a Short Dot low down to the dust cover in a very low ring, that would be ####ing cool.

That would be the tits. I'll go back to dreaming now.
