VZ58 scout mount and burris fastfire *pics P.3*

ff

I have a burris ff on my cz858 and it works fantastic. i had it out this morning hunting bear in heavy bush and it was just soaked(along with the gun) but no probs seeing the dot, then went back to the house to plink some clay pigeons off fenceposts(on my buddies farm). you'll love it, i have mine mounted at the front of the rail.

Yep, had a scout mount paired with a burris FF. The mount is solid, the fastfire is ok, the on/off switch is the weak point. Next time i do it, i will lock it to the on position. As well, it doesn't take water that well.

Just a note, i went to the NEA front rail.

just experimenting. it was the first time mounting a red dot, and figured closer = better. thats why i got the scout mount over the handguard rail. you dont see too many ar's with red dots 12 inches from your face so i dont get your point. i wanted it as far back as possible. like the op i didnt think sheels would hit it. so if your finished breakin my nuts please feel free to kiss my ass.

Well, I installed the scout mount the other day and got the Burris in the mail today, slapped it on and damn! It's awesome! I like i a lot.

How did you guys cut the extra rail part? dremel? hack saw? :p

pics to follow.

Why would closer be better? An optic mounted close to the eye only blocks ones peripheral vision and does not allow you to acquire the dot until you mount the rifle. Not to mention having it hanging over top the bolt carrier is clearly a bad idea.

Well things went very well while I cut off the excess rail with my dremel. It all looks very ###y. There's only one problem, there is still too much left.

So I'll have to do the handguard mod as well. More fun dremelling to do! :p

anyways, quite happy with what I've done.

That's because you've got it in the protector mount.

Move it back one more slot and see how it works.
