VZ58 Shorty - custom wood

My dad and I worked all day yesterday properly fitting the hand guard (it wasn't pinned in at the time, it fits better now). I would not suggest doing this unless you have a lot of patience, or are very good at wood work - it took a good part of the day to be happy with the fit and finish, but overall I am pleased. The pistol grip is not installed during the pic, I'm waiting for a replacement screw from a fellow CGNer/

i just picked up my super short csa carbine the other day,the wood looks good guys but i like the way it looks bone stock,but dam is it a loud little mother to shoot

Nice job! I like the oaky colour too. Wood brings a touch of class to guns, and takes it away from a priest.

Did you stain it or is that the natural color?

I really enjoy seeing someone who has taken the time and pride to do their own work.

Maybe power coating? Super thin and very durable.

Not an expert but materials coated need to be able to sustain 400 degrees

All you guys happy with your CSA shorty's, 7.5" and 11.75"? I'm thinking about getting one... anyone using the new 10rd pistol mags?
