There is a new FAB-Defence stock coming online for all you guys who want M4 stocks on your 58. Here is a sneak peak. :evil:

from what I understand this is fully extended. The stock comes complete with a custom buffer tube to fit to the VZ. The buffer tube is recoil reducing with a small shock absorber integral. Seems pretty decient. It doesn't fold but apparently will be quite a bit cheaper then the folders.

Yea keep in mind that you got a one time killer deal on that stock. I doubt a retailer could even bring them into the country for what you paid now.

heavy , not bulky , no wobble , solid .... take some practice to fold and unfold ... 1.5" longer ... perfect height for a low mount red dot .... when folded , can reach selector to switch to fire but difficult to switch back to safe .... do not interfere with grip ... i love it.

iron sight ? dont know , too close to call . i already changed to my scout mount .

if you wanna see a unfolded galil then go to the optic sticky , ryushi has left and right profile .

Yeah, I checked it out. That looks just like I imagined it would and it has the ...structure most pleasing to my eye.

I imagine the rifle can still be shot with iron sights and a Galil stock if it can be shot with a reflex sight. Those are about the same height.

Who sells the Galil folding stock these days? Vz.net says "coming soon" and I don't see it on either Marstar's or Wolverine's websights.
 
The tapco galil folder with a different front half. I think I could manage to get you guys some for around $85 retail depending on interest I would have to ship a bunch to make exporting them worth it.
 
I have heard of them breaking. it is not recommended to use them on saiga 12 guages but they are rather strong, not compared to a steel galil hinge but in general they hold up and are very lightweight. All the breakage problems that have been reported were the plastic hinge pin which has since been replaced with steel.

When you pay for that Galil folder for the Vz, aren't you really paying for the mount? What I mean to say is; if you wanted to replace the composite butt-stock with a real, steel, Galil butt-stock, it would just slip right in; right? The price on that folder is $345 US Dollars from Zahal. The breakdown, as I see it, is $300 for the custom mount, and $45 for the butt-stock itself. You can get a steel Galil butt-stock for an additional $45 and durability problem solved: no? Plus, if you are mounting an AIMPOINT, and a T-POD or some-such on the front end, then the extra weight of the steel Galil butt-stock would give the VZ back it's balance, albeit at a higher over-all weight. But balanced is balanced no matter how you slice it IMO, and if the whole system is durable, evenly balanced, and mission capable, then you're good to go!
