VZ58 vs CZ958 ??

Hi, I'am unfortunately one of the unlucky law abiding citizens/firearms owners that has had his CZ 858 turned into a prohibited firearm. I love the 7.62 X 39 calibre and I want another gun that shoots the same round. The only gun/guns I want are either the VZ58 or the New CZ 958 when it comes out. My question is, is it worth waiting for the new 958 to come out or just get the VZ58??

Go to the range and shoot your 858. Take full advantage until the Feds say otherwise. In the meantime keep the pressure on the Feds to ditch the current laws for something that make sense.

I want to shoot in the bush that's the thing. I've owned sks's and didn't much like stripping them to clean. I hated that our government is retarded.

Well since no one except the staff at Wolverine has handled the new 958 it is hard to say.

Either you wait and get a new designed "upgraded" 858 (958) or just order a vz58 now.

If I were in the market for another VZ58 I would definitely be looking at the 958 as the first variant of choice.

My prediction for the 958: Threads in the receiver's holes where the dust cover goes will crap out pretty quickly (corrosive ammo. screw and unscrew each trip). Rifle is not made to last.

We'll see that when (if?) its approved in a year or two.

If you don't like cleaning the SKS then the lack of a chrome bore might rule out the 958? I guess it depends how long you want to wait.

I agree. In my opinion it is a failed attempt at redesigning a firearm that didn't need redesign. Even the desire to add rails doesn't justify some of the ugly mods that have been made.
