Vz58 wood stock. Update!! With pics page 3

What does polymerized do ?
Tung oil cures in these two ways: polymerization and oxidation

Oxidation is easy to understand - exposure to oxygen (like many finishes)

Polymerization is a molecular process where the oil will form long chains of molecules as part of the curing process. This takes time. Lots of time, often measured in weeks. "Polymerized Tung Oil" is tung oil that has been treated (usually by heating) and has undergone this polymerization process already. This will vastly shorten the curing time of the oil.

With tung oil, you will want to keep the coats thin (to allow the oxidation process to occur) and don't rush the coats. Leave a full 24 hours for each coat to dry, then buff with steel wool to level it out before another coat. This way the finish will be strong and durable and you aren't recoating while the previous coat hasn't dried yet.

So I thought I'd try putting the wood on my vz58 to see how it was looking and I'm missing a few parts.
My vz58 came with the synthetic furniture and I need

The metal piece that goes on receiver where buttstock attaches
The buttplate
The bolt that holds the stock

Now I could probably drill the stock out a bit so my bolt would work. But if I need those other parts I might as well get the stock bolt too. Anybody know where I could buy those parts? Or a complete buttstock with all those parts??

Hey guys. A little update. I found the parts I needed. I put up a WTB ad and within 24hrs. A great CGN'er answered and gave me a great deal on the parts I needed. So I just went the easy route with the finish on the wood. I decided to go with blonde for this set in the future I want a red set too. So I just put multuliple coats of BLO and then a coat of furniture polish. It turned out a little lighter than i'd hoped. I tested it on the original grip and it came out darker and i really liked it however it came out way lighter on stock and handguards. The pistol grip that came with this set was just too small for my big ole meat hooks so I made a copy of an AK grip I had out of wood. It turned out pretty good. Is it too light colored??
Here's some pics
