VZ61 22lr Help

Had this for about 2 weeks and i noticed rust already in the gun from the factory, ive done nothing but take it apart and spray oil in it and close it up. Is this normal? I cant get the "rust" off the trigger or is this something else? Barrel is good, bolt is a little orange
found on
-the stock pivit point
-trigger pins or other pins (idk what they are called)
- Trigger group
- Trigger itself

and unrelated is there suppose to be a little bit of play between the "upper" and "lower"


was able to get some of it off in some parts. I get that its a 22 but any helpful info would be helpful. Thanks

Someone with more experience with this exact gun might have a more informed opinion, but considering the lineage of these guns (the originals) and their intended purpose, I wouldn't be overly concerned about what you're seeing. Wipe with oil and keep going.

If you took a perfectly white T-shirt, put some oil on it, and wiped down any modern firearm after a day of use-good chance you'll see a faint, orange "hue".

Nice gun btw, one of the few that makes me wish I had an R on my license!

Yeah i spoke to a few people and the SLIGHT movement between the upper and lower might be ok, but im still gonna bring it for warranty. Get ur Restricted! Its so worth it, this is so much fun to shoot.

Good idea, most of it came off when i gave it a good cleaning but Im more concerned about the little bit of play between the upper and lower now. Thanks for your response

No worries - The amount of play between upper and lower is tough to judge without having it in hand. A certain amount of play is probably going to be normal (possibly even necessary) for that type of firearm. Lots of firearms work just fine while rattling away, they just feel loosey goosey. If you're not used to the idea, it'll throw you off at first. Now that I think of it, all of the the most reliable military-format semiautos I've owned have all had a "healthy" amount of play in them.

If it affects function (or if it just bothers you), there may be a clever DIY way to shim the gap. If you do go with the warranty route, let us know who you're dealing with and how they take care of you.

Could you tell me more about the shim? yeah the play is super minimal, like it only happens if i move it myself but it 100% threw me off, i didnt know if it was normal or not. Id love to shim it, i dont think theyd do anything for me via warranty but its still not off the table.

Sorry bruh, I don't have any specific ideas for how to shim that particular gun. It depends on how the pieces attach, and where the play is coming from.
